Peppina (Vescio) Bruzio, age 87, of Sewickley, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children on Friday, January 2, 2026.
Peppina was born in Falerna, Calabria, Italy, to the late Santo and Teresa (Raso) Vescio. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vincenzo, her siblings, Rosina (late Giuseppe) Villella of Vancouver, Canada and brother Erminio (surviving spouse Rosa) Vescio of Montreal, Canada. She is survived by her children, Settimo (Diane), Maria, and Cindy Bruzio. She was the loving grandmother of Derek and Bradley Bruzio; sister of Antonietta (late Giovanni) Trunzo, Maria (Gerardo) LoPriore, and Lorenzo (Helene) Vescio, all of Montreal, Canada. She was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Peppina was a member of St. James Roman Catholic Church in Sewickley. She was a devoted homemaker who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved gardening, cooking, and baking, and there was always something homemade to share with those she cared about. She also had a special love for animals.
She treasured time spent watching her grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness. Spending time with her friends was important to her, and she was well known for her wonderful sense of humor that could brighten any room. Above all, she deeply loved her children and took great pride in her family. Her warmth, laughter and caring presence will be remembered and missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 7th from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 pm at R. D. Copeland, Ltd., Irvine Chapel, 702 Beaver Street, Sewickley, where a Funeral Prayer will be held on Thursday at 10 am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. James Roman Catholic Church, 200 Walnut Street, Sewickley at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in Sewickley Cemetery, 501 Hopkins Street, Sewickley.
