Richard Davis (1950-2026)
Age 75
Richard Davis of Economy passed away Sunday, January 25th, 2026, surrounded by the love of family at Good Samaritan Hospice.
He was born in Sewickley February 1950 to the late Clarence Davis and Mildred (DeGarmo) Davis.
Rick lived a life defined by loyalty, curiosity, mentorship, and an unmistakable splash of orange.
Rick was married for 51 years to his best friend and the love of his life, Roseann (Lupinacci) Davis, a partnership built on devotion, shared laughter, and standing side by side through all of life's turns. Together, they created a home grounded in commitment and care--a place where stories, music, and conversation always had room.
For 52 years, Ricky worked as a GMC certified auto technician, a profession he didn't just practice but mastered. He remained employed at Wright Automotive until the time of his illness, a testament to his work ethic and dedication. Rick believed in doing things right the first time and took pride in honest work. He was known not only for his skill but for his willingness to teach--mentoring others with patience, encouragement, and a genuine desire to see people succeed.
Helping others brought Rick real joy. He formed deep, long-term friendships and valued loyalty above all else. If Rick was your family member, friend, mechanic, mentor, or sounding board, you knew you could count on him.
Rick's interests were many and passionately pursued. He had a lifelong fascination with photography, trains and their history, and the outdoors. Music held a special place in his life--he could recognize artists and songs within seconds, often sharing the story behind the music just as enthusiastically as the sound itself.
And then there was orange.
Orange wasn't just Rick's favorite color--it was part of his identity. He wore it proudly, painted his home office in it, and loved telling the story of wearing out his orange crayons in his grade school classroom along with always choosing orange construction paper when working on an art project. Anyone who knew Rick will forever associate him with that bright, unmistakable hue--a reflection of his personality: bold, warm, and impossible to ignore.
Rick leaves behind his beloved wife Rose, a brother Philip Davis, beloved Aunt Elsie, sister-in-law Yemma Lupinacci, 5 nephews including Todd (Connie) Davis, Matthew (Leah) Davis, Bemmyr (Mary) Lupinacci, Jay Johns, Brian Lupinacci, a niece Renee (Dave) Geikler, 7 grandnieces and 1 grandnephew, and a god-son John Reibold. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law Romeo Lupinacci, mother-in-law Ann Lupinacci, a sister-in-law Sandra Lupinacci, brother-in-law Ronnie Lupinacci, a grandnephew Alex, and a grandniece Miranda. Rick also leaves behind a wide circle of family, friends, coworkers, and mentees whose lives are richer for having known him. His legacy lives on in the lessons he shared, the bonds he built, the music he loved, and the flashes of orange that will forever bring him to mind.
The world is quieter without Rick Davis--but far more colorful because he was here. A memorial celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions if so desired may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice in Wexford, PA or the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center.
